Shoe Palace x Converse Chuck Taylor – Detailed Images

Shoe Palace x Converse Chuck Taylor

Famed sneaker retailer Shoe Palace is celebrating a special occasion. Originally founded in 1993, the retailer is commemorating it’s 23rd year in business. As a result, they’re collaborating with Converse to put out a special edition of the Chuck Taylor. Due to the Chuck’s iconic status, we see it redesigned several times year after year. Consequently, it’s difficult to put a new spin on this model.

Shoe Palace have nonetheless put together a never before seen iteration. Additionally, they made a little history along the way. Introducing the Shoe Palace x Converse Chuck Taylor.

Shoe Palace x Converse Chuck Taylor Release Date

This truly unique take on the Chuck Taylor features a converse first: elephant print. No converse sneaker has ever taken on that aesthetic. In fact, this special release is the first time elephant print is used since the Air Jordan 3’s 1988 release.

The Chuck Taylor also holds a place close to Shoe Palace’s history. Converse was the retailers first major account. Ever since, the Chuck Taylor All Star has continued to be among the store’s best sellers.

Author’s Take

For more reasons than one, this special Chuck Taylor All Star is an easy cop.

First of all, you get one of the most legendary prints in sneaker history. Second, the Chucks are a stylistically versatile sneaker, the lower quality Stan Smith of Converse. And finally, the price sits at $70. Very rarely do exclusivity, style, and reasonable pricing come together so gracefully.

Another thing that was so clever about the use of the elephant print upper is how it ties in to the occasion. A Jordan 3 staple, the print is a cheeky way of celebrating the retailer’s 23rd anniversary while also commemorating another great 23.
