Earlier, we reported on our first look at the Flyknit version of the Air Max 90. Now, we get a detailed look at another legendary Nike runner going with the woven upper. Pictured above is the Nike Air Max 1 Flyknit.
The most substantial change is obviously the choice to go with Flyknit. That being said, other design specs are altered to fit the lightweight motif. The upper’s side panelling is usually in a suede or leather finish. This time, the same sections are constructed from a lightweight synthetic. That same material is seen on this Air Max 1’s Swoosh branding. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen that same synthetic. It’s featured quite prominently on other “Ultra” iterations of the Air Max 1 and Air Max 90.
At the moment, all we know is that the Nike Air Max 1 Flyknit will be releasing in at least three distinct colorways. Pictured above are the “Sport Red,” “Royal/Black,” and “Oreo” iterations.
As with the Air Max 90, we don’t have any official word from Nike as to exactly when these will be dropping. In the meantime, check out the detailed images above and let us know what you think in the comments section below. Are you looking forward to this major retooling of the iconic Nike runner?
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. Flyknit is always an upgrade. The Air Max 1 is one of my all time favorite silhouettes. Giving it a lightweight, summer friendly makeover only adds to the appeal. Easy cop for me.
